Did you know it has been nearly a year since I last did a blog post? OOPS. I always start off with such good intentions and somehow I always get distracted.
I am also 20 days late posting this blog post, so you know I am nailing 2020 so far (DOH).
I wanted to write a blog post about how 2019 was for me, business wise as well as personal wise and let you know about some exciting plans I have for 2020, by making it public I am hoping **fingers crossed** that I will actually achieve some of them.
Last year, 2019, like the last few years was an odd year for my business, due to lots of factors business wasn't booming and I had a hard time handling cash flow, after leaving a part time job which I had in 2018, I decided that I wanted to start selling products again, I rejoined notonthehighstreet.com and focused hard on what kind of products made me happy and most of all, proud.
It started off pretty rocky and a touch all over the place as I tried to find my forte, so everything looks a little odd at the beginning of this year and I felt a little disconnected from my business. This also meant that I didn't focus much on marketing or direction, which was a mistake.
Around February I had an idea of the kind of products I wanted to create, and created the Personalised Photos In A Box for Her however, it took me until May 2019, to have that spark of imagination I needed in order to create my very first product that I was SO proud of, the Retro TV this sparked some serious motivation within me and I realised that this combined everything I wanted when it came to products.
I was able to design it from scratch, it was creative and fun, I could personalise it and also, it would be hard for someone to copy. It was almost perfect. For some reason, this product opened my mind up to a massive range of possibilities and from there I have managed to create a whole range of products that I am truly proud of!
So now we have hit 2020, I have some big plans for my business, which I am really excited to share with you.
This is the first year since I started my business that I actually have a 'business plan', not necessarily with figures and predictions in (although there are some, which I will keep private), but more of how I see GLB Graphics looking at the end of 2020.
I won't be putting too much pressure on myself because as the business grows and flourishes if one of my goals in January isn't working by June, then I am happy to just move forward and try something else, I know that these plans aren't set in stone and I won't beat myself up if I don't achieve it.
Right, let me fill you in (I have been rambling enough now), these are my top plans for 2020:
- Brand new wholesale range
- Illustrate more
- Create a range of at least 100 products
- Weekly blog posts (so far, not so great ha!)
- SOCIAL MEDIA
- Figure out direction with Etsy, NOTHS and Website
- Facebook Ads
- Collaborations with businesses
It's quite a long list and lots of these will take some serious planning but I am so excited about it and I cannot wait to get stuck in with everything. I promise to keep you updated with all my plans as I want you to be with me every step of the way.
See you *hopefully* next week for a far more much blog post about something, once I come up with the subject HA!
